I grew up wanting to be a zoologist, making the observation and study of animals in their natural habitat my daily life. I had it all planned out, taking biology in Secondary School and Junior College, taking a look at bachelor degree courses specialising in the field. Unfortunately, it is not easy to become a zoologist in Singapore due to the demand for them in the job market. In the end, I chose to pursue a degree in a different field.

Obviously, deep inside there was a sense of disappointment as my childhood dream got squashed by the harsh reality. I suppose that's where wildlife photography helped me pick myself up. Why I love wildlife photography much more than human portraiture is that I get to observe and take animals engaging in their natural behaviour. Sometimes I suppose, I'm happy with my choice as I get to have the best of both worlds thanks to my hobby :)
